Summer holidays – Are you super organised or last minute?

Summer is my favourite season. Not only do I happen to be a Summer baby as I was born in June but I just love sunshine. It really does brighten up my days and puts me in a good mood.

One of the priorities on my list is to arrange a lovely summer getaway, somewhere hot and sunny!

So when is the best time to plan a summer holiday?

It might seem like months away but summer will be here before you know it. Each year planning a summer holiday is the one thing majority of us have on our to do lists however we tend to stop ourselves thinking too far ahead and decide to think about it in more detail as the summer months are near approaching. Is there really a best time to start planning? Well, there are a few things you might want to consider thinking about.

1. Where do you want to go?

A starting point would be to think about the possible destinations because a little research now can save you time and allow you to think about your budget and saving strategies.

2. Search travel deals

You might be surprised at the offers you come across because planning your summer holiday early can be an advantage when considering deals which might only be for a limited time.

3. Compare prices

Many people wait until the last minute to plan their holiday with hope that the prices will drop however the cheapest deals happen to be earlier on in the year especially during the winter. Summer is the most popular holiday season, so planning and thinking about where you want to go, the type of holiday you want and who you are going to be traveling with will work in your favour as you will be one step ahead.

The best time to plan your summer holiday really depends on what is most suitable for you as an individual. Planning in advance can help ensure you get the most out of your holiday, although some people find that making use of last minute deals they come across works perfect for them as they jet off to a destination of their choice in the spur of the moment and still have an enjoyable time.

Either way, it would be beneficial to keep an eye out and to be aware of the holiday packages and deals available throughout the year to be able to make the best possible decision which is convenient for you.

  1. I agree with you that it is better to plan your vacation. But sometimes it happens that you just want to go somewhere and disconnect from the daily problems. And it will be the best time.
