When was the last time you stopped to appreciate all that you have in your life?
The negative moods we find ourselves in from time to time can make us dwell on the things that are not going right. We are all human and feel all kinds of emotions but we have the ability to control how we feel in any given situation.
The best way to remain positive and to appreciate the good in your life is to complain less and practice gratitude.
Being thankful for all that you have leads to you being healthier and happier. Most of the time the things we get annoyed and upset about are minor things that wouldn’t matter in the near future compared to other issues happening around the world.
To fully appreciate what you have, count your blessings. If you have a roof over your head, food on the table and the company of friends and family around you then you have everything you need.
Spend time with those who matter to you because life really is too short. By getting caught up in everyday life it is sometimes possible to lose sight of the things that are most important.
Our jobs are important aspects of our lives and although work can be busy, we should always make time for other areas that are just as important. Bea Arthur, licensed therapist and entrepreneur, said: “You’re not as irreplaceable as you think you are, so make yourself irreplaceable to the people and things that matter.”
True inner happiness does not come from materialistic things, but from knowing the value of the people around you and appreciating what you have.
Make a gratitude list, focusing all the positives in your life. It is a great way to change your perspective and uplift those around you.
